france2030.ai uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, measure audience behavior, and serve relevant advertising. This policy explains what we use, why, and how you can control it. We comply with GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) and French data protection law under CNIL oversight.

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — for example, whether you have already accepted the cookie banner — and to track aggregate behavior across sessions. Cookies themselves do not contain personally identifiable information; they contain identifiers that can be linked to personal data when combined with other information.

Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies (Always Active)

Essential cookies are required for the website to function. They cannot be disabled because disabling them would prevent core site features from working. No consent is required for essential cookies under GDPR Recital 25.

CookiePurposeDuration
cookie_consentStores your consent choices from the cookie banner365 days
cf_clearanceCloudflare security challenge — verifies that the browser is not a botSession
__cf_bmCloudflare Bot Management — distinguishes automated from human traffic30 minutes

These cookies help us understand how visitors use france2030.ai — which pages are most visited, how long readers spend on each section, and which navigation paths are most common. This data is used in aggregate to improve the site; it is not used to identify individual users.

CookiePurposeDuration
_gaGoogle Analytics 4: assigns a unique anonymous ID to distinguish visitors2 years
_ga_XXXXXXXXXXGoogle Analytics 4: maintains session state for the specific GA4 property2 years
_gidGoogle Analytics: session-level visitor identifier, refreshes daily24 hours

We use Google Analytics 4 with the following privacy settings enabled:

  • IP anonymization: The last octet of your IP address is removed before storage, making precise geolocation impossible
  • Data retention: Set to 14 months (Google Analytics minimum)
  • Advertising features: Disabled — we do not use Google Signals or audience features in analytics
  • Data sharing with Google: Disabled for advertising and benchmarking purposes

If you decline analytics cookies, your visit will not be counted in aggregate statistics and we will have no ability to track your navigation.

france2030.ai carries display advertising served by Google AdSense. Advertising cookies enable Google’s systems to serve ads that are relevant to your interests and to measure the performance of advertising campaigns. These cookies may involve data sharing with Google’s advertising partners.

CookiePurposeDuration
__gadsGoogle AdSense: primary ad serving and frequency management13 months
__gpiGoogle AdSense: ad personalization identifier13 months
NIDGoogle: stores user preferences for ad personalization (non-signed-in users)6 months
IDEGoogle DoubleClick: cross-site conversion tracking13 months
DSIDDoubleClick: identifies signed-in Google users for ad personalization2 weeks

France2030.ai does not control which specific advertisements are served — this is determined by Google’s automated systems based on page content and, where consent is given, reader interest profiles. No advertiser has access to individual visitor data from france2030.ai.

Third-Party Content

France2030.ai may embed content from third-party platforms (for example, data visualizations from public sources). When third-party content is embedded, those providers may set their own cookies governed by their own privacy policies. We minimize third-party embeds to reduce this exposure.

Managing Your Preferences

Cookie banner: When you first visit france2030.ai, a consent banner appears allowing you to accept all cookies, accept only essential cookies, or configure your preferences by category. You can revisit these choices at any time by clicking the “Cookie Settings” link in the site footer.

Browser controls: All major browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their privacy settings. Blocking all cookies will prevent the site from remembering your consent choice, which means the banner will reappear on each visit.

Google Analytics opt-out: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent Google Analytics from tracking your visits to any website using GA.

Google ad personalization: Visit Google Ad Settings or myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy to manage how Google uses your data for advertising across all sites.

france2030.ai implements Google Consent Mode v2. When you decline analytics or advertising cookies, Google’s tags operate in a privacy-preserving mode: no cookies are set, no personal data is collected, and only cookieless aggregate modeling data is generated. This ensures third-party tags respect your consent choices even if they are loaded on the page.

Data Retention

Analytics data is retained for 14 months in Google Analytics and then automatically deleted. Advertising data retention is governed by Google’s policies (generally 13 months for AdSense cookies). Essential cookies expire as listed in the table above.

Your Rights Under GDPR

As a user in the EU or EEA, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request deletion of that data; withdraw consent for analytics or advertising cookies at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing; and lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in France: CNIL).

To exercise your rights regarding data processed by france2030.ai directly, contact privacy@france2030.ai. For data held by Google under our Analytics and AdSense contracts, use Google’s data subject request tools at policies.google.com/privacy.

Changes to This Policy

We will update this Cookie Policy when we add new cookie categories or change our technical stack in ways that affect data collection. Changes will be reflected in the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. Significant changes will be disclosed via the cookie consent banner.
